All Classes are doing AWESOME! We are working hard, learning new music for this quarter, and getting ready for our Winter Concert!

4 Quick Announcements this week:

1. NO After School Tutoring Tomorrow (Tuesday)
2. Fundraiser Pick Up date reminder/location (Thursday, November 9th)
3. Winter Concert Date Reminder
4. Scales/Pass-Off Assignments for all classes.

1.  Due to Halloween, there will be NO after school Lyman/Milwee Mentor session tomorrow. Please do not stay after school.

2. Our fundraiser items will be delivered on Thursday, November 9th , students with ten items or less will be called out of 7th period to pick up their orders. Students with more than ten items should have a parent pick up their cookie dough for them between 1:30pm and 5pm on their behalf. ALL PICK UPs WILL BE IN THE CAFETERIA.

We will have more details about delivery at the end of this week. Thanks for your patience.

3. Our Winter Concert is on WEDNESDAY, December 6th at 6:30pm in the Lyman Auditorium. Please mark your date, as all students are required to attend this event. It is a MAJOR portion of their grade.

If you have an unmovable conflict, and are unable to attend, you MUST let me know NOW, so I can prepare your student for the alternative assignment for the concert. You must receive approval from me to be excused from this concert.

4. Students in all classes currently have assignments that are due this week:

Concert Band: Ab, Eb, and Chromatic scales may be recorded and submitted on eCampus.

Symphonic Band:  All Scales (7 + Chromatic), may be recorded and submitted on eCampus.

Beginning Band: Pass-Off numbers 1 and 2 are due this week. Students were given a sheet with 11 pass offs that must be completed by the end of the semester. Parents, please ask for this sheet to check on their progress. Feel free to email me with any questions. Students can submit these assignments as recordings on eCampus, or can pass-off assignments in class, in the morning before school, or after school (by appointment).

That’s it for this week, thank you!

Milwee/Lyman Partnership & Mentor Program

10/9/2017

Greetings Milwee Parents and Students,

I am SOOO excited to announce that our partnership with Lyman HS’s band program is continuing this year by offering Milwee students a chance to get free private help from Lyman HS band students.

Starting on Tuesday, October 17th, Lyman High School band students will be visiting our campus to help our students learn their SCALES, ALL-COUNTY MUSIC, WINTER CONCERT MUSIC, and other FUNDAMENTALS of performance. Students will also be able to ask for help on any other assignments and “PASS OFFS” that need to be completed.

All Grade levels, classes, and ability levels are encouraged to attend (Beginners, Concert, Symphonic, and Jazz!)

Don’t miss this opportunity to get free, and very useful help on your instrument. I will be on site the entire time, rotating around and helping students/mentors throughout the process. It’s a great chance for students to improve and learn from really talented High School Musicians. Plus ITS FREE!!!!

Please see the attached FLYER for a breakdown of dates/expectations of students and mentors.
We will be meeting on most Tuesday’s between October 17th and December 12th (with breaks for Halloween and Thanksgiving vacation). The times will be from 4pm until 5:30pm, weekly.

No pre-signup is necessary, just show up to get extra help!

Thank you all so much for your support in music.
