Lyman Football Game Performance Info

8/22/2017

The date is set for FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st, 2017 @ Lyman High School.  This is a mandatory performance for all 7th and 8th grade Band 2 and 3 students.

Please click "Files & Handbook" to find a printable version of the permission form.

We are looking forward to performing "Land of 1000 Dances" with the Lyman High School Marching Band and Rock Lake Middle School 7th and 8th grade students at half-time of the Lyman vs Lake Howell Football Game.  MLMS band students will receive a preview of the high school band experience, a brief lesson how marching band works, and will get to view Lyman's marching show this year.  It's a great event and tradition that helps students set their eyes on the future and what music holds for them!

Here are more times and details for pick up and drop off:

Drop off is at Lyman High School at 5:30pm outside the auditorium.  We will take attendance and make sure everyone has their instrument at 5:45pm.   Students are advised to bring a snack for dinner, or a little bit of money with them for dinner from the concession stand during the band's 3rd quarter break.

Pick up is after the halftime show, around 9pm, from Lyman High School in the auditorium. We will escort students from the football field to the auditorium after halftime for checkout. I advise students and parents to plan ahead of time, whether the student is going to be picked up after halftime or after the entire football game. Please note! Students will NOT be allowed to “just go” with a parent at the stadium -- we will have chaperones designated for checkout in the auditorium.

I advise all students to keep their phones on them during the game and for parents to communicate with students via text/call when you arrive for pick up. Chaperones will then escort the student to the auditorium in small groups throughout the second half of the game.

The game will go until about 9:30pm so students are welcome to stay for the 3rd and 4th quarters and continue to cheer/have fun in the stands with the band.  Pickup should be no later than 10pm for all students.
